Greetings everyone. Yep, the internship has entered the final 2 week stretch. I’m beginning to get ready for the move back to Michigan and to jump into the fall semester.
Today we went to a picnic, and I forgot how much fun water balloons were until I had some thrown at me, and then we just went at it for an hour. Yesterday we went bowling, and I discovered that I should exercise, as my arm is still confused concerning phsyical activity. It’s neat interacting with the group I’m in outside of work. We all had a great time both days. It allows us to interact with eachother in a more personal fashion, rather than just in a business environment.
Some of the other interns are leaving today. It will be different without them around. We sure had some fun times this summer. I hope to keep in contact with them, and maybe see them again someday back here in Redmond.
I miss my stuff. For a while, I was ok with not having most of my belongings with me, but now I really wish I had them here. I especially miss my TV.
You know, ever since I was a little kid and installed Microsoft Windows 3.1 for the first time, I wondered what it would be like to work for Microsoft. I always kept it in the dream department, not really thinking it could seriously happen, but still, it made a nice dream. When Lavasoft asked me if I wanted to work for them, I thought to myself that I could have a shot at possibly living a close version of this dream. For those that don’t know, I was fired from them a year later. When that happened, I wondered what would be in store for me, now that my shot at somewhat living that dream was now over. I’m not one to sit in dispair when an unexpected event occurs. You take what you’re given and rise above it. So, despite what happened, I continued to work hard, I joined Magnus at TrojanHunter, and I kept going to classes. Well, we all know where that lead, and here I am, at Microsoft, where I always dreamed of going. It is beyond my dreams, and the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced. Now that this dream has come true, I’ve picked a replacement: to come back to Microsoft as a full time employee. I’ll keep it in the dream department, but who knows… it may actually happen.
Until next time, take care.
