I think this picture says it all

It's hot!

Here comes the heat!

There’s talk of near-triple-digit temperatures! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

And what am I worried about?  My desktop.  What does that mean?

Guess I’ll explain that one.  The thing runs hot as it is.  I have the case side off and the hard drives sitting on the floor to help keep them cooled off.  Since there’s no A/C, I have to rely on a gentle breeze through the windows, and the ceiling fans.  If the air’s already 100 degrees, then I’m just blowing hot air around.

And before anyone suggests it…. Turn it off? What, are you crazy?!?  Since it records TV shows for me, and I access Media Center through the Xbox 360s, and watch TV in my bedroom through it, it needs to stay on.

Lots of water – stay in the shade – if all else fails, go to the air conditioned office. :P

Server time updated

I noticed I said midnight in that last post, but it shows 11:47, so I updated the server time.

Triple Geocache Hunt

Today three of us from work went after three geocaches.  Two were right near eachother, about 500 feet apart.  The third one, though, was a good 0.9 miles away.  Now, unfortunately we’re not crows, so walking that actually proved further.  After finding it, we took a different way back that was meant to be shorter, but it actually took longer that way.  Oh well, we tried.  Nice part is I’m just shy of 17,000 steps today on the pedometer.

This has lead to another conclusion.  I *really* need new shoes.  I thought walking in these at Cedar Point all day were enough, but nope.  Nice reminder today on how it’d be wise to buy new ones.  Definitely need to look into walking shoes. ;)

It’s midnight – I’m tired – I’m going to sleep.  See ya’z.

Roller coaster mishap injures 27 – and some general babble

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/13793802  Not another accident.  I’m becoming concerned – either there are more this year, or the press has hopped on the bandwagon of blowing any tiny roller coaster mishap out of proportions, and I’m guessing it’s the latter.  This happened at Paramount’s Kings Island, which is in Cincinnati, and is a Cedar Fair park (same owners of Cedar Point).

Other than that, nothing new really.  Time for an oil change in the car, which means it’s time to get a jack, jack stands, wrenches, etc etc etc so I can do that.  I don’t want to take the car in for it – it’s something I’ve done myself for quite some time, and you know how it goes: doing it myself means I know it’s being done right.  Plus I enjoy a break away from working on computers – a nice change of pace.

One of my friends at work (Hi Tareq) noticed the RSS feed was feeding post comments, not the posts themselves.  He let me know and confirmed that I have it working right.  Pesky thing, that RSS feed is.  And no, I don’t subscribe to my own blog – I actually don’t subscribe to any RSS feed.  I get my news from Jon Stewart, and that’s enough news for me. :)

Oh, and I authored my first Knowledge Base article.  It’s up at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=921048 if you’re ever bored some time.

Also, I’m starting to get comment spam.  No worries, though, they’re being filtered out.

Off I go – see ya’z.
