Saturday Downtown

Yesterday was the opening of the expanded Seattle Art Museum [seattleartmuseum.org].  To help celebrate, there is free admission for yesterday and today.  Some of us went yesterday and yikes was it crowded.  I prefer scenic oil paintings myself, and given it’s been a while since I’ve been to a museum, it was a very enjoyable trip.  We also grabbed something to eat at Beecher’s Handmade Cheese [beechershandmadecheese.com].  It’s located at Pike Place Market [pikeplacemarket.org].  I had a ham sandwich, and after I waited a tad for it to cool off (wow it was hot!) it was quite good.

After the museum, a quick trip to Tully’s Coffee, and some window shopping at Pacific Place [pacificplaceseattle.com] I met up with another group of friends for dinner and a movie.  We went to see Hot Fuzz, which was quite funny.

Yesterday was an enjoyable day – something that I needed.

Next weekend, Cedar Point opens!  This’ll be great!  Season pass is ready, airline tickets are ready, and I’m ready.  Much needed vacation, much needed.  I checked my coaster spreadsheet, and last year I had 90 rides opening weekend, including the few hours on Monday I was there.  Anyone want to guess the final count for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday this year?

That’s about all I have.  It’s Sunday and that means laundry and cleaning, so off I go to do that.  Take care!

  • Does anyone else wonder if Aaron will ever get tired of CP? I met Aaron online in 2003 and haven’t seen any sign of a decline in interest — “coaster spreadsheet”, oh my! :)

  • I think i’ll guess 84 sounds like a lucky number to me good talking to you yesterday. Guess next time we’ll see you will be about a month or so
